Details: These earrings are a modern take on a Lover's Eye. Beautiful 18k gold eyes carved into two oval discs - symbolizing that one is being watched over.

During the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries "lover's eye" miniature portraits became a trend. These portraits - depicting the giver's eye - would then be presented to a loved one for them to wear - whether set in a ring, brooch, snuff box, etc.

Measurements: The overall drop is 7/8". The disc is 1/2" wide, 3/8" tall.
